It Don’t Feel Like Home Here Anymore

american flag

Rainbow flags fly above the crowd
Confederate flags no longer allowed
Rioting in the streets
No respect for the police

It don’t feel like home here anymore

White boy kills nine good people
As they worship beneath God’s steeple
It’s a “hate” crime, some have said
Then they blame all whites
For what just one did

It don’t feel like home here anymore

Babies killed before they’re born
In clinics all across this land
Some call that a “hate” crime, too
Others say it’s parenting that wasn’t “planned”

It don’t feel like home here anymore

Prayer was taken out of our schools
Spanking is against the rules
Kids take guns and kill their friends
Then God is blamed for how it ends

It don’t feel like home here anymore

Soldiers desert our country
To join the other side
Just couldn’t take the stress
Walked away and let good men die

It don’t feel like home here anymore

The ugly word “racism” raises it’s head
Over every little word that’s said
An American hero saves thousands of lives
Comes home to help others
And that’s where he dies

It don’t feel like home here anymore
Guns are blamed for every crime
Take them away and we’ll be fine
It’s not guns that are to blame
The fault lies in a killer’s brain

It don’t feel like home here anymore

The White House has become a laughing stock to the world
No respect shown as our flag is unfurled
“In God We Trust” is on our coins
And “God Bless America” is our song
How long before these, too, are gone?

It don’t feel like home here anymore

God’s still in control
He’s still on the throne
If we humble ourselves and pray
We won’t go thru this alone

Remember the faith of our fathers
Who founded this land
For the future of our children
It’s time to take a stand

Stop screaming about our “rights”
Start calling it “sin”
Ask God for forgiveness and mercy
Then maybe one day —
It will start feeling like home again!
